- Regional Environmental Center for Central and East Europe - The REC is a non-profit organization focused on encouraging public-private cooperation to solve environmental problems in the central and east European nations; originally formed by the EU, the US and Hungary, the REC has offices in 15 CEE nations that carry out the Center's programs.
- CEDAR, Central European Environmental Data Request Facility - CEDAR is a service of the International Society for Environmental Protection which aims to make environmental information and regulations accessible electronically; founded by the Austrian government, it is also supports programs of the UN Environment Program.
- CIESIN, Center for International Earth Science Information Network - based at Columbia Univ., serves as a clearinghouse for databases on environment and global change.
